Rules and Procedure 1.
General
1.1. This contest is open to all stage magicians of all countries.
There is no limit to age or sex.
1.2. To qualify for the contest, each applicant must be a paid
registrant the AMA 2005.
1.3. All applications for the competition must be received by
the Organize Committee by 31 August 2005.
1.4. Application materials should include:
- Convention Registration form and Competition Registration
Form.
- A VHS/DVD/VCD tape of the Act ( The tape need not be professionally
done. It is only to show the overview of your competition
act. Clarity is vital.)
- Detailed stage requirements of the performing program.
- Weight and Volume of the Properties.
- Four photographs size 4 x 3 cm.
1.5. All the application materials, photos, videotape will not
be returned.
1.6. All finalists will be notified by 31 August 2005.
1.7. Each contestant’s competing act cannot change after being
selected the finals. The contestant will be disqualified if
the competing act is different from that of the videotape selected
by the Organizing Committee.
1.8. All contestants, by their participation in the contests,
agree to all the decisions of the judges, which are without
appeal.
1.9. Any prize-winning contestant may be asked by the Organizing
Committee to perform again his act at the last show of the Convention
without any fee.
1.10. The Organizer retain the following rights during the competition
: Press Interviews, Photography, Printing, Live Broadcast, Audio
& Video recordings, Producing &Selling of Video Recordings.
No monetary compensations will be made for any of the afore
mentioned, by the Organizing Committee.

Stage Competition
First Prize: US $ 2,000-
Second Prize: 1,000-
Third Prize: 500-
3. Competition Performances
3.1. Each contestant has to be ready to perform his act at least
ten minutes before the scheduled time. Any contestant not ready
on time may be disqualified.
3.2. All contestants must present a complete act (not a single
trick) of a least 5 minutes and ant most 10 minutes.
3.3. Disruption to a contestant act caused by the sound, lighting
and stage personnel will be allowed to perform again.
3.4. All contestants should bring their own music on CD, MD
or DAT form and given to the Organizing Committee upon registration.
A rundown of the music tracks and the contestant’s name should
be properly indicated.
3.5. The order of appearance of each competitor will be determined
by the Organizing Committee according to the form and the content
of each competitor’s act.
4.
Scoring
4.1. Both competition will be judged by an international jury
of 5 members invited by the Organizing Committee and chaired
by the organizer himself.
4.2. The Organizing Committee will also select an official time-keeper
for both competitions.
4.3. The Jury will judge all the contestants with fairness,
and judge according to the merits of each performance.
4.4. Points will be awarded to each contestant on his showmanship,
equipment, dressing, technical skill, on the original of his
performance and on its program (entertainment value). The weight
of each these scoring elements will be different according to
class of the performance, as indicated on the judging forms.
4.5. Each judge will give a total score up to 100 points to
each contestant. After each contest performance, the scores
on the judging forms will totally added and the total and averaged
among the judges.
4.6. As one of the key judging criteria is originality, contestants
are strongly discouraged from performing an act that closely
resembles well known acts. An obvious copy may even lead to
disqualification.
4.7. At the end of the competition and after completion of primarily
score the scores will be handed to the president of the Jury,
who will gather the Judges in a meeting to award the different
prizes
